Mehndi
A Mehendi ceremony is an Indian wedding ritual that typically happens one or two days before the wedding. In a typical Mehendi ceremony, all of the women in the bride and groom's families, along with close friends, gather together while the bride has elaborate henna designs applied to her hands and feet.
OUR MISSION
the ultimate wedding resource for West Indians
The mission of West Indian Weddings is to shed light on the West Indian culture and traditions of Hindu weddings that are absent from the world wide web.
We want to provide a better understanding of the customs, rituals, and traditions of a Hindu Wedding as it has changed over time since our ancestors have migrated to the West Indies as early as the beginning of the 1900s.
We want to help brides and grooms plan for the big day and allow them to explore as they are planning their events. We want to help people understand the significance of our culture.

You left footprints in many hearts. Your value of religion and culture will live on with us.
Without you here to guide me and plan my Vivaha Sanskar, the most sacred ritual of my lifetime;
you’ve inspired me to create this resource for the West Indian community
and the world to understand our culture and traditions.
Dedication to my mother
